NOV 2006

Donnie Fricks writes from the front lines:

I'm at Camp Lejeune, where all the lucky Marines get to go, and this is who I've seen or heard from either physically or through the “MySpace” port-hole:

Manny “Boo or Buu” Borromeo is married (Aug 05') and living out in Washington flying P-3s.

Brad Pignatello, along with Anne Gibbon and Den Neveroski just returned back to Hawaii from their 6 month deployment in the Pacific aboard the USS Reuben James.  Heard that Dan and Maili Ordiz were married in Dec 05'.

D'arcy Spiese is stationed at Lejeune and currently with CLB-26 (formerly MSSG-26) at the Engineer Detachment Cdr and set to deploy sometime early next year with the 26 MEU.

Marc Giorgi had a daughter, Maria, on 14 Feb 06, and is now stationed at MCAS New River currently in his RAG squadron flying CH-53s.  For those of you that didn't know, he is one of many who transferred to the Marines (23 May 05)  from the Navy for a more exciting future flying helos.  Grant Moody and Andy Zetts made the “Change Forever” but will be flying jets.  Both are currently finishing TBS or have just finished.

Lauren Pizzi did the early out and is working for General Mills in Boston (as of May 06).

Allison Whatley is up in Saratoga Springs finishing up Nuke Prototype  and Sam Wickline returned from Djbouti and is back in New Orleans (as of May 06).

Matt Edwards is flying P-3s and was moving out to Hawaii (as of Jan 06).

Saw Matt Bishop in Fallujah in Aug 05'.  He was working with the Iraqis and I heard he is currently back there for his 2nd tour, but doing Combat Engineer stuff this time.  Also in Fallujah, a group of us old Navy FB bretheren got together and had some chow.   Brian Grana 97', Brian Madden 02', Josh Brindel and Joey Fay and myself got together at the Camp Fallujah chow hall and later watched the Navy/Maryland game live on the internet at 3 a.m. Joey and Josh convoyed from nearby camps to join the fun.

Saw Garrett Cox, Joey Fay and Brian Stann out in California in June.  We all met up for Brian's “World Extreme Cagefighting” (WEC) fight that lasted only 16 seconds.  We paid $75 bucks to watch Brian knock the guy out in 16 seconds!  But, it was well worth it.  We had a great time watching Brian do what he loves to do (MMA) while we drank the tap dry and yelled all 16 seconds of it.  Joey is stationed in 29 Palms and Garrett was heading for I&I duty in TX.  Brian headed out to the sandbox in July for his 2nd tour where he'll probably one up his Silver Star with a  Navy Cross or so.

Saw Steve Price who is an Infantry Officer with 4th MEB.  A couple of us got together and watched some UFC in July and headed out to the local watering hole on Emerald Isle.

Jimmy Hagerty, Jeremy Fonvielle and Mike Silver are all out on the West coast doing their thing.  Steve Healy is stationed in Virginia.  He joined one of the few 53' squadrons that the Navy has left earlier this year.   Heard from Troy Peterson in April.  His unit was out in Al Asad, Iraq.

As for me, I've been stationed at Camp Lejeune for over 2 years now with 8th ESB.  I just transferred to II MEF HQ Group to be on a MiTT team that trains and advises the Iraqi Army.  I took two years of French (Group III major) at the USNA and can't remember anything.  Now I've got to learn Arabic in 3 months?

Oorah.

Eddie Kennedy writes:

Joel Starzman has nothing to celebrate about. Edward J Kennedy IV was born July 17th and there is now yet another person in the world better looking than him.  Young Eddie has the striking features of his father but seems to look a lot like Eric Reardon. I recently

spoke with Kevin Ross. He has lost all of his hair and is trying to invent a plastic toupee that does not feel like plastic. When he is not trying to falsely enter himself into Men's 50 and older basketball leagues, he is in Canada with Green Peace trying to stop the production of genetically engineered wheat. I am currently the DCA on Vella Gulf (CG 72). I have had the honor of pt'ing every day with Mike Mullen and Mike Aurillio. Before this, I was onboard USS Wasp where Matt Mahoney and Mike McIlravy were actively engaged in their 3M programs. I spoke with Jordon Voss who is currently on deployment flying through the pacific islands. I have heard he has entered himself into the local elections. The last I spoke with Jeremy Winkle, he and Mark Cochran were trying to laterally transfer to the Coast Guard.  As for me, in my downtime I am still looking into the identity of the plebe that spray painted the clock tower our freshman
year.  I believe we can still have him adjudicated.
